“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
My initial step toward my weight loss journey, this time around began on December 31st, 2014. I entered the doors of Weight Watchers for the fourth time, with a made up mind to lose the weight, reach goal and ultimately become a lifetime member.
Over the years, I have tried various methods to lose weight. These included popping pills, drinking disgusting shakes, drops and so many crash diets only to accomplish temporary weight loss results. The moment I resumed my regular eating habits, the weight came back and in some instances doubled from where I would have started. Weight Watchers is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle!
I knew I needed to lose weight to control blood pressure and totally eliminate the need to administer blood pressure pills. Coupled with the uncomfortable feeling in my clothes, and the fact that my energy level peaked at zero on most days were all clear indications that it was time to be true to myself and start the journey.
Upon embarking my journey to lose weight, I encountered some smooth sailings, some turbulence, definitely some highs and lows, many challenges, de-motivating days and wanting to give up. Weight Watchers however, taught me to find that inner strength to develop positive life changing choices, habits, to believe in myself, and stick to the plan. Additionally, attending Weight Watchers meetings with a supportive leader, the coaching and the group support aided in my pursuit to goal weight.
Truly, it was not always easy but perseverance and above all confidence in me and knowing I had the tools that would enable me to reach my desired goal became my daily inspiration.
September 2015 proved my endurance as I received the keys to Weight Watchers as an indication of attaining and maintaining my weight loss goal. I finally became a lifetime member having lost a total of 35 pounds. I started my journey at a whopping 192 pounds. I am now healthier, happier, more confident, and bursting with energy. Overall feel really great about myself!
